Miss Weakland was born in Altoona, Pa. on August 12, 1928, daughter of the late Austin E and Aileen (Sarvis) Weakland.

She retired in 1990 as a secretary at Altoona Area School District with 44 years of service.

She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church Altoona, Pa.

Bernadette was a 1946 graduate of Altoona High School.

For more than fifteen years Bernadette was an outstanding Girl Scout Leader for hundreds of girls from St. Leo Grade School. She enjoyed collecting Hummels, collecting coins, knitting, and being with her nieces and nephews.

Bernadette is the last of her immediate family and is survived by numerous neices, nephews, great and great great neices and nephews. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Marguerite Frederick, Joan Heverly, Mary Jean Gibbons, and Sally Colledge.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 15, 2015 Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Altoona, with Fr. James D. Zatalava officiating.

Committal Rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery Altoona, Pa.

Friends will be received from 4-7 PM Friday, August 14, 2015 at Jones Funeral Home where a Vigil for the Deceased will be held during the vistation.
