Mr. Charles Anthony Shade, age 66, of Altoona, Pa, died at 5:00 AM, Saturday, November 9th, 2019 at his residence, after a brief illness.

Mr. Shade was born in Altoona, Pa on August 15, 1953,  son of the late Oscar Landis and Gertrude (Lingenfelter) Croft.

He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a SSG having served in Vietnam and Operation Desert Shield/Storm.

He is a Christian.

Charles was a 1972 graduate of Altoona Area High School. He enjoyed being with his grandchildren, watching Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers and photography.

He is survived by Daughter Erica L, Middleton, of Altoona, Pa; Brother Roger Croft, of Altoona, Pa; Sister Lisa Musselman, of Clearville, Pa; and  Bother Bryan Farber, of Altoona, Pa. Charles was also survived by 3 grandchildren Arden, Gavin and Gage. He was preceded in death by a sister Debra L. Croft Lear July 15, 2019.

A Funeral Service will be celebrated at Jones Funeral Home, Altoona, Pa at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday November 17, 2019 with Pastor Richard H. Maher officiating.

Interment at Carson Valley  Cemetery Duncansville, Pa.

Friends will be received Sunday, November 17, 2019 from 5-7 P.M. at Jones Funeral Home where a Funeral Service will be hold at 7:00 P.M.

Military Honors will be provided by the USAF and Blair County Veterans Honor Guard.
