David Kevin Powers, 68, of Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, passed away Friday, May 15, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on April 4, 1958, in East Meadow, New York, the son of the late Alfred and Geraldine (Newkirk) Powers. Surviving are his daughter, Stephanie Hurd (Wes Jr.) of Greencastle; long-time significant other, Yvonne Martin of Huntingdon; sisters, Michelle Florio (Tom) and Lisa Pruznak (Loren); brother, Alfred “Ted” Powers (Jess); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dave retired from SCI Huntingdon after many years of service. He had a quick wit, a great sense of humor and enjoyed golf, music, cooking, and Steelers and Notre Dame football. A true music connoisseur, he was always discovering new artists, supporting local bands, and sharing his knowledge and love of music with others. He was a proud member of Huntingdon Elks Lodge #976 and valued the friendships he made there throughout the years. Friends and family will be received from 2pm. until the 4 p.m. Celebration of Life Service on Saturday May 30, 2026, at Rose Hill Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Inc, Altoona with Pastor Michael Blackie officiant. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Elks Helping Elks, c/o Huntingdon Elks Lodge #976, P.O. Box 238, Huntingdon, PA 16652 (checks payable to Elks #976), or through Penn Highlands Healthcare Fund Development’s “Grateful Giving” program in honor of the Penn Highlands DuBois ICU team, whose compassion, dedication, and tireless care meant so much to Dave and his family throughout his lengthy stay.
