Donald C. “Don” Ware, 62, Altoona, died Tuesday at his residence. He was born in Sewickley, son of the late Donald E. and Joan M. (Conrad) Ware.
Don married Nancy L. Baumgartner on May 24, 1980, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Altoona.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Altoona.
Don was a 1976 graduate of Altoona Area High School. He enjoyed praying to the Lord, Jesus, spending time with his “four beautiful girls and Mack,” going to antique stores and yard sales and spending time in his man cave and secret garden with those he held dear in his heart. He was noted for his generosity and quick wit and “he did it his way.”
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Brittany L. (Mack) Eckenrode of Altoona; two granddaughters, Ava A. and Mia L. Eckenrode; three sisters, Joni (Randy) Oakes and Jan (Mike) Servello, both of Altoona, and Mary Ann (Wes) Gwin of Hollidaysburg; and mother-in-law, Ann M. Baumgartner of Hollidaysburg.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Marty Ware.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 22, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Altoona, with Father Lubomir J. Strecok, celebrant. COVID-19 restrictions require masks and social distancing.
Committal Rites will be held at Grandview Cemetery, Altoona.
Friends will be received from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Monday, Feb. 22, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Altoona.
