Mrs. Dorothy L. Berger, 70, of Altoona, Pa died peacefully, surrounded by her family at 7:10 PM, Monday, April 15, 2019 at UPMC – Altoona.

Mrs. Berger was born in Altoona, Pa on June 12, 1948, daughter of the late Robert W. and Mary Elizabeth (Koch) Anthony. She married David A. Berger December 27, 1969 at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament.

Dottie was a stay at home mom. She retired in 2005 as an Occupational Therapist Assistant with 17 years of service.

She was a member of Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament Altoona, Pa.

Dottie was a 1966 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School and graduated from Mt. Aloysius College, Summa Cum Laude in 1988. She also was a lifeguard, enjoyed skydiving and gardening in her yard.

In addition to her husband she is survived by 3 children Christopher M. (Ann K. Byrne) Berger, of Gettysburg, Pa; David A. Berger, of Cortland, NY; Mary Elizabeth (Liz) former husband Anthony Bambocci, of Altoona, Pa. 4 grandchildren; 9 brothers and sisters Robert W. Anthony Jr., of Duncansville Pa; Mary Elizabeth Bruno, Greenburg, IN; Susan A. Crouse, of Altoona, Pa; William H. Anthony, Newport Ritchey, FL; Joseph W. Anthony, of Altoona, Pa; David F. Anthony, of Kirkland, WA; Gertrude W. Anthony, of Philadelphia, Pa; John Thomas Anthony, of Altoona, Pa and Sarah M. (Sally) Anthony, of Altoona, Pa. Dottie is also survived by numerous and nephews and her companion dog Bettis. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers James E. and Richard K. Anthony.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona.

Committal Rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery Altoona, Pa.

Friends will be received Monday April 22, 2019 from 4-8 PM at Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament where a Vigil For the Deceased will be held during the visitation.
