Edward “Pappy Ross” Smith Sr., age 75, of Bellwood, died Thursday evening at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Altoona.  He was born in Bellwood, a son of the late Rexford and Alberta (Barth) Smith.  Surviving are his wife, Barbara J. (Grassmyer) Smith; a daughter, Barbara A. (Brian) Markey; a son, Edward R. Jr. (Michelle) Smith; four grandchildren:  Natasha (Ernie), Kyra, Joshua and Nathan; four great-grandchildren:  Madison, Karlence, Ethan and Eli; two sisters:  Bonita Parson and Deb Woomer.  He was preceded in death by two brothers:  Rexford and Chester.  Ed retired as a Truck driver.  He enjoyed deer hunting and spending time with his family.  A private viewing and funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.  Internment in Blair Memorial Park.
