Gregory O. “Greg” Maxwell, 45, of Altoona, died Sunday, July 19, 2026, following a courageous 5-year journey with cancer. He was born on March 9, 1981, in Concord, MA, son of Dennis and Rosemary Graber Maxwell. Surviving is his wife Carie, daughter Kandice (Bill), granddaughter Lilian, his Stepmom Val Maxwell, and Carolyn Cushing whom Greg affectionally called and thought of as his mom. Also surviving are his brother Eric (Mel), two sisters, Angela Howell and Denise Pace, half siblings; Rebecca and Benjamin Stoneberger, and all their families. Greg was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, Harley and Dorris Maxwell and Ellery and Nancy Graber. He was also preceded in death by Uncle and aunt, Cox and Sharon Stahl and by his mother-in-law Janice Furry. Greg had many gaming buddies and several pets over the years and now. He was a 1999 graduate of Leominster High School located in Massachusetts where he participated in Wrestling. Before his cancer diagnosis, he worked at Health Ride Plus, but his heart was always in the work he did for many years at Valley Tire where he was always driving his service truck. He also worked at Goods Tire service for several years. Greg enjoyed playing PlayStation, building Legos and models, all hobbies that followed into his adult life. He especially loved playing games and watching movies with Lily Bug. He loved going to his childhood camp, Camp Kaleva. All services will be privately held at the convenience of his family.
