James F. Fayson, 77, Altoona, passed away Friday, September 18, 2026 surrounded by his family. Born January 29, 1949, Altoona, son of the late Francis and Margaret (Brown) Fayson. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Elaine (Wilt) Fayson; brother, Anthony Fayson; and sister, Dorothy Nuhfer. Survived by his son, Michael Fayson; stepson, Tom Kelly; stepdaughter, Karen Goodman; sister, Leona (Jim) Stouffer; nieces, Becky (Jim) Ritchey and Crystal Nuhfer; nephews, James Miller and Mark (Jeannine) Stouffer; and several grandchildren. James worked for many years as a machinist and mechanic, but more recently was a janitor for Martin’s grocery store. James was a proud member of the former Sons of Italy Altoona City Lodge #1415. He enjoyed fishing, gambling and playing bingo. At James’ request, there will be no viewing. A celebration of life will be celebrated October 24, 2026 at 4 p.m., Hollidaysburg American Legion Post 516.
