James F. Fayson, 77, Altoona, passed away Friday, September 18, 2026 surrounded by his family. Born January 29, 1949, Altoona, son of the late Francis and Margaret (Brown) Fayson. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Elaine (Wilt) Fayson; and brother, Anthony Fayson. Survived by his son, Michael Fayson; stepson, Tom Kelly; stepdaughter, Karen Goodman; sister, Leona (Jim) Stouffer; nieces, Becky (Jim) Ritchey and Crystal Neuffer; nephews, James Miller and Mark (Jeannine) Stouffer; and several grandchildren. James worked for many years as a machinist and mechanic, but more recently was a janitor for Martin’s grocery store. James was a proud member of the former Sons of Italy Altoona City Lodge #1415. He enjoyed fishing, gambling and playing bingo. At James’ request, there will be no viewing. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date and will be celebrated at the Hollidaysburg American Legion Post 516.
