John F. Cuzzolina, Jr., 83, of Altoona, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 10, 2026, after spending his final weeks surrounded by the love of his family. Born October 21, 1942, in Altoona, he was the son of John F. Cuzzolina, Sr. and Mary A. (Robertazzi) Cuzzolina. John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sandra L. (Shaner) Cuzzolina, whom he married on October 18, 1969. He is survived by his daughters, Angela M. Alianiello of Exton, and Antoinette M. Cuzzolina and her husband, Timothy C. Detterbeck, of Annville; three grandchildren, Olivia, Ava, and Anthony; and two sisters, Mary Ann Brooks and her husband, Donald, of Philipsburg, and Patricia Glogowski of Tubac, Arizona. A 1960 graduate of Altoona High School, John served in the United States Marine Corps, attaining the rank of Corporal. Following his military service, he opened a neighborhood barbershop before pursuing a career in construction. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures, including reading, solving crossword puzzles, cooking, cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers, and spending time at the beach. An avid runner, he also enjoyed staying active and spending time at the gym. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family. At John’s personal request, a private family viewing and service were held at the funeral home. He was laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery.
