John H. Weston, 60, of Altoona, died unexpectedly Friday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Robert A. and Betty J. (Steel) Weston.

He married Polly J. Hill on Aug. 13, 1983 at Mardorf Methodist Church, Altoona.

John was self-employed as the owner and contractor of John Weston General Contractor.

He was a member of the Methodist faith.

John was a 1978 graduate of Altoona Area High School. He was a member of the Logan Country Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing, maintaining his equipment and working around his house.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Johnna H. Weston of Bellefonte and Jenna H. (Jared) High of East Freedom; his beloved dog, Pearl; two brothers, Barry W. (Darlene) Weston and James R. (Diane) Weston; and a sister, Bonnie L. Dawson, all of Altoona. John is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Jones Funeral Home, Altoona.

A funeral service will be celebrated at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Jones Funeral Home, Altoona, with the Rev. Peggy Bonsell, Celebrant.

Interment is private at the convenience of the family at Grandview Cemetery, Altoona.
