Mr. Joseph A. Knott Sr. 88, died at 9:00 PM, Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Maybrook Hills and Rehabiltation Center after an extended illness.

Mr. Knott Sr. was born in Altoona, Pa on May 12, 1929, son of the late Charles J. and Ella Ruth (Shillito) Knott. He married Orvita E. Riggleman June 5, 1948 at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Altoona.

He retired in 1991 as a Route Driver at Industrial Uniform and Towel Altoona, Pa with 30 years of service. He also worked at Home Nurising Agency as a courier with 7 years of service.

He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church Altoona, Pa.

In addition to his wife he is survived by 5 children Lawrence J. (Kathryn) Knott Sr. of Altoona, Pa; Constance A. (Richard) Steinbeiser, of Altoona, Pa; Cynthia L. (Lawrence) Nevling, of Altoona, Pa; Joseph A. Knott Jr. of Harrisburg, Pa; and Jeffrey M. (Rebecca) Knott, of Altoona, Pa. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Mr Knott was preceded in death by a great granddaughter Annika Rose Steinbeiser and 5 siblings.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, April 9, 2018 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Altoona, Pa with Msgr. Robert C. Mazur officiating.

Committal Rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery Altoona, Pa.

Friends will be received from 4-8 PM at Jones Funeral Home where a Vigil For the Deceased will be hold during the visitation.
