Kathryn H. (Hoover) Glacken, 83, Altoona, passed away Monday, September 21, 2026, at UPMC Altoona with her family by her side. Born June 14, 1943, Altoona, daughter of the late Sherwood B. and Olive M. (Gibboney) Hoover. Preceded in death by her brother, John S. Hoover. Survived by her loving husband, Charles F. Glacken; children, Charline M. Glacken and wife, Stacy; William C. Glacken and wife, Kimberly; and Kathryn Glacken; grandchildren, Ashlie, Daniella, Breanna and Emily; great-grandson, Lincoln; sister-in-law, Kiyoko Hoover; and nephew, James G. Hoover. Kathryn lived a life rich in faith, creativity, and simple passions. A woman of deep Lutheran faith, she found peace and community through her journey. Her artistic spirit shone through many talents. She filled her home with music as an accomplished pianist, captured the world around her as a talented sketch artist, and shared her heart and mind through her work as a published poet. Beyond her art, Kathryn possessed a lifelong curiosity for the past as an avid history buff. She also found great joy and serenity spending time tending to her garden.
