Mr. Kevin E. Lear, 59, of Altoona, Pa died Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at UPMC-Altoona, after an extended illness.

Mr. Lear was born in Altoona, Pa on June 3, 1960, son of the late Donald E. and Helen M. (Hite) Lear. He married Anita M. Heininger August 6, 2016 in Newton Hamilton, Pa.

He retired in 2010 as a Corrections Officer/Manager with the Rank of Lieutenant at SCI Huntingdon Huntingdon, with 18 years of service.

Kevin was a 1978 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School. He was a member of Stone Creek Hunting Club and enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, camping and NASCAR.

He served in the U.S. Air Force.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter Victoria A. (Scott) Lear-Romeo; stepson Joshua P. Ickes, stepdaughter Barbara J. Ickes, all of Altoona, Pa; 2 grandsons Dorian Romeo; and Damian Romeo; granddaughter Collette Romeo; step granddaughter Alani McClellan; 5 siblings James Lear, of Pittsburgh, Pa; Karen Helman, of Minnesota; Dawn Steinbug, of Altoona, Pa; Kirk Lear, of Virginia; and Brenda Ross, of Altoona, Pa. Kevin is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be celebrated at Jones Funeral Home, Altoona, Pa at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 with Reverend Dennis Braun officiating.

Friends will be received from 4-7 PM Wednesday July 17, 2019 at Jones Funeral Home.
