Mrs. Linda VanOrmer, age 71, of Altoona, Pa, died at 12:38 PM, Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at UPMC - Altoona, after an extended illness.

Mrs. VanOrmer was born in Claysburg, Pa. on May 12, 1944, daughter of the late Edger and Effie (Helsel) Krider.

She retired in 2001 as a Nursing Assistant at Hollidaysburg Veterans Home with 18 years of service.

She was of the Protestant Faith.

Linda was a 1962 graduate of Altoona High School. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and shoping.

She married Gerald L. "Woody" VanOrmer August 15, 1964 at First Church of Christ, Altoona.

She is survived by her husband and three children Gerald L. (wife Dana) VanOrmer ll, of Altoona, Pa. ; Sheryl A. VanOrmer, at home; and Lori A. (husband Heath) Moore, of Tyrone, Pa. Linda is also survived by 6 grandchildren Felisha, Chelsea and Mitchell VanOrmer, and Allison, Avalyn and Rowan Moors, 3 special nieces and nephews and their families. Linda was preceded in death by an infant daughter Diana Lynn, her step father Alois Probst, brother Charies Fickes and a sister Shirley Rago.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM Tuuesday, April 19, at Jones Funeral Home, Altoona, with Reverend Peggy Bonsell officiating.

Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood, Pa.

Friends will be received Monday, April 18, 2016 from 5 - 8 PM at Jones Funeral Home.
