Madeline H. “Meme” Vogel, of Altoona, Pa, died at 6:20 PM, Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Garvey Manor Nursing Home, Hollidaysburg, Pa after an extended illness.

Mrs. Vogel was born in Tyrone, Pa on August 23, 1924, daughter of the late Edward and Genevieve (Bender) Moloney. She married John R. Vogel May 15, 1951 at Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. He preceded her in death July 12, 2000.

She was a Homemaker. Madeline was previously employed as a cashier at American General Life Insurance Co and was a receptionist for Roxy Beverage Co.

She was a member of Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament Altoona, Pa.

Madeline was a 1942 graduate of Altoona Catholic High School. She was a member of Cathedral Christian Mothers. She enjoyed traveling, attending musical events, family gatherings, football, the family dog, Cracker and was an avid bowler.

She is survived by 4 daughters Mary Gene Vogel, Elaine M. (Frank) Dombrowski, Maureen Kedzuf and Christine M. (Henry) Wolf all of Altoona, Pa; a sister Mary Triana, of Northeast, Pa. Madeline is also survived by 3 grandchildren Lauren (Jesse) Leonard, Alex (Sarah) Gates and Annie Dombrowski a great grandson Lucas Leonard and a former son – in – law Robert Gates. She was preceded in death by 7 sibling Rita Kuntsbeck, Edward Moloney, Anna Catherine Terza, Elizabeth Eastbourne, Joan Nedimyer, John Moloney  and Geraldine Kirsch and a son – in – law Benedict Kedzuf.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona, with Msgr. Robert C. Mazur celebrating.

Committal Rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery Altoona, Pa.

Friends will be received Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 5-8 PM at Jones Funeral Home where a Vigil For the Deceased will be held during the visitation.
