Maulkey "Candy" Bjorkstrand

Maulkey “Candy” M. Bjorkstrand, 75, of Altoona, passed away Wednesday May 14, 2025. She was born on February 24, 1950, in Altoona, the daughter of the late Oscar and Marion (Durbin) VanOrmer. Surviving is her husband, Clifford Bjorkstrand Jr.; a son, Donald Alan Weyandt; a daughter, Misty Dawn McDowell; and daughter in law, Eva Page. Also surviving are six grandchildren; Amber Lamb and Christy, Ross Bush, Kari Strayer, Lindsay Strayer, Tressa Price, and Daniel McDowell; three great grandchildren, Joel VanOrmer, Braylon Bush, Porter Pipetti, and by her brother, William VanOrmer. She was preceded in death by her daughter, LeeAnn Marie Bush, a brother, Gerald VanOrmer, and by her sister, Elaine Patterson. Candy had two special lifelong friends, Jackie Patterson and Mary Foor and her beloved dogs Benji and Peanut. She worked as a cook at Hillview Nursing Home in Altoona and she enjoyed Shopping and watching Hallmark Christmas Movies. Candy’s family and close friends were everything to her. She loved holidays and cooking for her family. No services have been scheduled at this time.
