Melissa A. Merritts, age 53, of Martinsburg, died Saturday morning, December 18, 2021, at Nason Hospital.  She was born April18, 1968 in Altoona, a daughter of the late James T. Merritts and Shirley K. (Harshbarger) Merritts.  Surviving are her mother, a son Caleb J. Merritts, sisters:  Jaylene Hoover (Wade), Nicole Merritts (Ryan), and fiancé Michael Admiral of the Netherlands.  Melissa was a 1987 graduate of Central High School and a graduate of Mount Aloysius in 2004 for medical assistant.  She was a member of the Hollidaysburg Church of the Brethren.  Melissa enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking, fishing and her animals as well as spending time with her family.  A memorial celebration service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Rescuer Workers of Hollidaysburg or Bedford County Humane Society.  A memorial service will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at Hollidaysburg Church of the Brethren with 11:00 a.m funeral service.
