Patricia L. Maria, 83, of Altoona, passed away after a courageous battle with lung cancer Sunday, August 20th, 2017.

Mrs. Maria was born in Altoona, Pa on June 16, 1934, daughter of the late Charles P. and M. Caroline (Leidy) Weamer. She married Louis R. "Lou" Maria December 17, 1953 in Winchester, VA. He died May 24, 2008.

She was a Homemaker.

She was a member of St. Therese of the Child Jesus Altoona, Pa.

Pat was a 1953 graduate of Altoona Catholic High School. She enjoyed cooking, baking, especially Christmas cookies, flower gardening, feeding her wild birds, reading and crossword puzzles. She loved her family, friends and all of her special neighbors.

She is survived by a daughter Michelle A. and son-in-law Paul Johnson, and a step daughter Deanna R. Burkett both of Altoona, Pa; a sister Carolyn husband Don Cossitor, of Altoona, Pa; and a brother John D. "Butch" (Marion) Weamer of Vineland, NJ. Pat is also survived by 5 grandchildren Stephanie Lockard, Shelley Baker, Louis R. Maria III, Kevin Johnson and Crystal Monk, 3 step great grandsons and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother Charles K. Weamer and a stepson Louis R. Marin Jr.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Therese of the Child Jesus, Altoona, Pa at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 24, 2017 with Fr. D. Timothy Grimme officiating.

Committal Rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery Altoona, Pa.

Friends will be received Wednesday, August 23, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Jones Funeral Home where a Vigil For the Deceased will be held during the vistation.
