Richard R. Leipold, 80, Altoona, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, February 3, 2024 at his residence. Born September 5, 1943, Altoona, son of the late Ralph F. and Pearl M. (McDonald) Leipold. Preceded in death by his siblings, Robert Leipold, Bonnie Angermeier and Terry Merritts; and brother-in-law, “Shorty” Merritts. Survived by his daughter, Julie Ann (Robert Luciano) Della, Lilly; 3 grandchildren, Katie, Anthony and Josie Della; brother, William (Pat) Leipold, St. Louis, MO; brother-in-law, Ken Angermeier, Canton, OH; and sister-in-law, Connie Wills, Altoona. Richard was a 1962 graduate of Altoona High School. After high school, he attended Youngstown State. Richard formerly worked as a salesman for Fiore Buick. He was a member of the Bavarian Aid Society. In his spare time, Richard enjoyed golfing. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Family and friends will be received Thursday, February 8, 2024 from 4 p.m. until time of service outside of Mass at 6 p.m., Jones Funeral Home, 1222 13th Ave., Altoona, Msgr.
