Rita Mary Kantoski, 93, Altoona, formerly of Hollidaysburg, died at 8 :45 PM, Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at her residence, after an extended illness.

Mrs. Kantoski was born in Edwardsville, Pa. on January 8, 1922, daughter of the late William J. and Anna (Yuskosky) Lewis. She married John Anthony Kantoski June 15, 1946 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Kingston, Pa. He died November 7, 1996.

She was a Homemaker.

She was a member of Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament Altoona, Pa.

Rita was a 1939 graduate of Edwardsville High School and a 1940 graduate of Wyoming Seminary. She was a past member of St. John Ladies Guild, past President of Spade and Trowel Garden Club, Hollidaysburg, Chioyo, lkenobo lkebane Society of America, N.G.S. Emeritus - Master Flower Show Judge and a member of Greensburg Garden Center. She enjoyed gardening and flower arranging.

She is survived by a son James J. (Kathryn) Kantoski, of Altoona with whom she resided; a sister Ann Mary Carey of Kingston, Pa. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Rita was preceded in death by 3 children Ann Adele McKelvey, William Kantoski and David Kantoski and a grand daughter Mary Kathryn Kantoski.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, December 18, 2015 at Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona with Msgr. Robert C. Mazur officiating.

Committal Rites will be held at Alto Rest Park Cemetery, Altoona, Pa.

Friends will be received Thursday, December 17, 2015 from 4 - 6 PM and Friday 9:00 - 9:30 AM at Jones Funeral Home where a Vigil For the Deceased will be celebrated during the visitation.
