Mrs. Vera Anna Downs, 66, of Altoona, Pa, died at 12:58 AM, Friday, May 29, 2020 at UPMC – Altoona, unexpectedly.

Mrs. Downs was born in Altoona, Pa on September 20, 1953, daughter of the late Harry A. and Elizabeth D. (Hatch) McClellan.

She was a retired Baeutician.

Vera was a member of Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament Altoona, Pa.

Vera graduated from Altoona High School and Altoona Beauty School. She was member of the Boy Scouts of America, Penns Woods Council and the Lions Club. She enjoyed cooking. She was a disability Advocacy Leader, gardening, reminiscing and talking about how much she admired her family.

She is survived by a son Jason Downs, of Altoona, Partner Sam Heverly, with whom she resided, Niece Heather lvey &Partner William Smith, of Dallas, TX; Great Nephew Jacob Riddle, Great Niece Destiney lvey, Great Niece Kaitlyn Riddle. Vera was preceded in death by a brother Robert F. “Scot” McClellan.

There will be no services.

At the family’s request there will be no visitation.
