William J. Ickes, 64, of Altoona, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2026. He was born on August 28, 1961, in Altoona, son of the late Joseph B. and Joan B. (Carbonitti) Ickes. William was preceded in death by his wife Cindy (Hewitt) Ickes. Surviving is his daughter Brooke Snowberger, 3 grandchildren; Kylie Graham, Andrew Snowberger, and Aaron Snowberger, 3 great grandchildren; Remington, Kymberlee, and Roxanne. Also surviving are his 2 brothers: John and Brian Ickes and his sister Linda Sanders. William was a 1979 graduate of Altoona High School. He was employed with the Iron Workers Local Union No. 3. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 10a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Altoona. Inurnment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
