Yva-Marie Battles, 32, Altoona, died Thursday at UPMC Altoona after an extended illness.

She was born in Orange, N.J., daughter of Derek Taborn and Robin D. (Ross) Moore.

Yva-Marie was a graduate of Altoona Area High School. She loved music and dancing.

She is survived by two children, Derrick H. Taborn and Za’Niya C. Battles, both of Altoona; her mother and stepfather, Robin D. and Corey Moore of Altoona; father, Derek Taborn of Bedford, Va.; a sister, De’Nae Hurd of Indiana, Pa.; and grandmother and stepgrandfather, Doris and Richard Baskerville of Dothan, Ala.

Yva-Marie was preceded in death by a sister, Danielle Hurd.

There will be no public visitation or services.
